The Chinese city of Chengdu was under lockdown when a 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit the city. Some people were prevented from leaving their homes as local officials, scared of being reprimanded for not adhering to the CCP's zero covid policy, locked people in their buildings. As China's real estate sector takes a nosedive, local officials are getting creative with how to spur property sales. Hong Kong has become as ridiculous as mainland China when it comes to enforcing laws—one woman was charged with "sedition" for clapping.
