Say goodbye to Bieber Fever in China. It appears that, due to his (undefined) “bad behavior”, Justin Bieber has been banned from performing in China. The Beijing Culture Bureau’s website responded to a question posed on its website. A user wanted to know why, on Justin Bieber’s website, his Asian Tour didn’t list any appearances in China. Instead of sending him to the corner for a time out, the CCP in all its wisdom, banned Justin from performing for his “bad behavior”.
No Beliebers Allowed
Banning celebrities from its borders isn’t anything new to China. However, unlike the bands Oasis and Maroon 5, Bieber didn’t say or post anything critical of China or the PRC. The rationale used by the government is undefined. All the reason that was reported was his “bad behavior”, but no specific instance was cited (such as his arrest in 2014). According to Beijing’s Culture Bureau, the Canadian singer: “…is a gifted singer, but he is also a controversial young foreign singer,”. The Bureau added: “We hope that as Justin Bieber matures, he can continue to improve his own words and actions, and truly become a singer beloved by the public,”. Yes Mr. Bieber. You may be rowdy now, but a little mature reflection and maybe some good reeducation on core Communist values will help. Also, maybe wear a bit more red.
