Eating like a North Korean may sound like an oxymoron, but it really is possible! Just look at Kim Jong-un.
But seriously, the North Korean government owns more than 100 North Korean themed restaurants across Asia. They’re called “Pyongyang,” after the North Korean Capital. It would be like going to Shanghai and eating hamburger at “Washington, D.C.”
North Korean waitresses entertain diners by singing classic Chinese pop songs from the 70’s and 80’s. They also have to send most of their earnings back to North Korea, if their deal is at all like other North Korean workers living abroad.
I’ve also heard some North Korean dishes can be quite spicy. But they can be made to your preference, from mild, to hot, to finally, “nuclear.”
