Chinese Cops Trained in Posture by Pins and Crosses

Those are members of the People’s Armed Police. They’re a paramilitary force that is known for their seemingly perfect parade marching. However, they aren’t super human. It turns out the training regime for these cops is quite draconian.

What a P(a)in in the Neck!

No, your eyes don’t deceive you. In order to keep their necks straight, these Chinese cops are forced to wear sharp pins in their collars. I’m wondering if their trainer is secretly Tomás de Torquemada, the head of the Spanish Inquisition. I mean, they even use crosses to keep the trainees’ backs upright. Wow, that’s harsh!

Keeping Their Heads in the Game

If all that isn’t too much for recruits, then next is the upside-down hat balance. These guys show everyone who’s boss by keeping their heads still.

What’s Next?

In their quest for ever greater control over their police forces, the Chinese are always innovating. However, I have some ideas for them. If they’re looking for more cosmetic solutions, maybe try botox injections for their sagging jowls? Or what about a nose job for the policeman’s sweet 16 party? But what can be done to keep them from looking so bored?
